Most of us who post on this page started out in porn or adult websites if you will. Some have started the transition to non adult but still have a few porn sites. Many of you newbies may think porn is pretty easy to sell but it’s much harder than selling almost anything non adult.
Most of the non adult tricks came from the porn side of the net. Most website innovation comes from the adult side of the net. The ‘gurus’ take from the porn side and then put the stuff out as their own idea on the non adult things they pitch.
We also knew that Google gave a lot of weight to the text in a link because we had pages ranking for things that weren’t on the page. However those same things were in link text pointing to our pages.
Gurus also stole a lot of linking concepts from the porn side of the net and another thing they stole was popups. Hubs came from porn, dynamic linking came from porn.
Bottom line is if you want to stay ahead on the non adult side you should watch what’s new on porn sites. That’s where the major innovations come from. Porn brings in more money, is more competitive and due to the competition porn site owners are always looking for the latest edge and can afford to apply it when they find one.
If porn bothers you but you want to know more then just stay out of the categories that you can tell contain porn. If you want to look at the porn parts be prepared for dirtty words and maybe even a pic or two.
However you will learn a few things if you aren’t afraid of seeing a naked womans porn pic now and then.
Among the many things we will be discussing is links and how important they are. Different link schemes to move PR around a network of sites or even how to focus links on one page of your site to get it higher PR.
Linking strategies are all over the place and you can find a ton of different ones. Google made it somewhat easier when they created the nofollow tag. Now you don’t have to know any java script or how to use redirects.
Now and then you’ll even see a few products mentioned and you can be pretty sure they work if adult webmasters are using them.
The biggest difference between porn websites and non adult sites is what they sell and that most adult porn sites are membership sites. Porn webmasters also used recurring billing before the non adult side ever figured out it existed or how to use it.
If you are a non adult webmaster or a newbie who wants to give porn sites a try you can learn a ton of things here. For you newbies to porn or non porn one little tip. Never link one of your non adult sites to a porn site, no matter how bad you want to.
Google won’t like it because you are linking to a bad neighborhood. However don’t worry to much about porn links pointing to your non adult sites as most of the SE’s understand you don’t have control of incoming links.
If you have questions about designing porn sites, SE, links and linking go to the ask mr porn category and post your question. That will be the main part of the discussions on this porn blog.
Of course you can also reply or make a comment on any post that you happen to come across that you like. I have also removed nofollow from everything so you will get PR and link text reputation from the urls you put in your comments.
Put no more than two urls in per comment or I won’t approve it.
