Search engine optimization companies tell us all they can get us high rankings, more money, etc if we hire them to search engine optimize our pages. Many a website optimization service uses that same line.
IMO and thru some research I’d have to say that the two most important SE optimization thngs you can do are on your website page titles and on the links coming into your site.
You don’t need to waste your money on paying some search engine optimization service to have a good title. It’s relatively simple. Figure out what keywords you are going to use and get at least one keyword phrase in your title.
I use multiple keywords in the title as long as they make sense. Then use your keyword phrases in the opening paragraph and in the closing paragraph. If possible get some synonyms in the page body to go with your keywords.
That’s all there is to that. Write a good title, more than 20 chars and less than 75. Get your keywords in your description and then don’t worry about the rest of the possible meta tags. Use the keywords meta if you want. It won’t hurt and I always use it.
Next is links and what you have i them for link text. What you have in the link text is more important than where it comes from. Use your keywords from your title in your link text.
If, like me, you have more than one keyword phrase in your title try to use all your phrases or words in your link. One keyword phrase per link. Vary your incoming links so they don’t all say the same thing.
If I had a site about dogs on of my phrases might be dog food, another, frozen dog food and yet another, dry dog food. So my title might be Frozen dog food verus dry dog food. Now I have three link text variations that tell the SE what my site is about.
In one link text I’d use “dog food” in another to the same page “frozen dog food” and yet anothe as “dry dog food”. All 3 are going to help me with my main phrase “dog food”.
Good titles and good text links are somewhere around 90% of what google is now looking at. You don’t need a search engine optimization companies or a search engine service to do that for you. Do it yourself and save your money for more important things.
SEO isn’t that big a mystery anymore. Write good titles, get your keywords in the text links and make sure you have written a good and helpful page and it will rank quite high. It really is that simple.
